Learn To Love Yourself In 8 Steps — Really!

Learn To Love Yourself In 8 Steps — Really!

Do you think it’s possible to Love Yourself unconditionally? I believe it is and I will teach you how to do it yourself. It’s not hard, but it takes commitment. Are you up for the task? Let’s do it then!

You will often here someone saying ‘I hate myself.’ Maybe you have thought so yourself, at one time or another. Self-hate is a gradual process that comes from neglecting oneself.

Everyone is capable of love, and it all starts with loving the self. Learning to love oneself has the benefit of spreading this love to those around, developing happier relationships at home and work.

At times, you may feel that the deeds you have committed against yourself and those around you make you a hateful being, but this all goes away by learning to love yourself.

Learning to LOVE yourself

  1. Listen to your inner feelings

The starting point to loving yourself is to listen to your inner being. What feelings are you experiencing? Remorse, hate, revenge, disgust?

Acknowledge these feelings and analyze their origin. Where do they stem from? Is it a broken relationship? Is it a failed career?

Accept the past as it is, because you cannot change it and starting focusing all of your attention into the present moment.

Love the person that you are today and focus on making yourself even more desirable to yourself and those around you. By living fully in the present moment and consolidating it to the best of your abilities, you are also building a better tomorrow.

  1. Be compassionate to yourself

No one is perfect, including yourself. Accept that you have flaws, just like everyone else around you. Try to better yourself every day, but don’t be too harsh.

If criminals can be pardoned for good behavior, surely you can also pardon yourself. Take the step of forgiveness today — nobody is going to do it for you.

It’s important that you have learned your lessons and that you now want to be a better person. The past is long gone, whilst the present moment is right here, right now. Live in it!

  1. Spiritual nourishment

Love flows all around you. Develop a belief that there is a higher power or existence looking over you with love — It really cares for you, so allow it to Love you.

Imagine Love-energy raining onto you from above, washing away everything that you wish to be gone.

Imagine yourself swimming in an ocean of light and Love. Allow yourself to be washed clean by this ocean and see yourself emerging as a light being: clean, loving, ready to do wonderful things for yourself and those around you.

  1. Meditate about love and peace

A spiritual connection to your Higher Self or Spirit Guide can be achieved through daily meditation.

Allocate some time from your daily schedule to simply sit in silence. Detach yourself from the buzz of the modern world (you can achieve this with music, healing sounds or by shutting your imagination down during meditation).

The more you are able to keep your mind from wondering, the more your brain recharges with pure energy from the Source.

After a few weeks or months of daily meditation, ask your Higher Self to connect with you. You will feel a strange sensation at the top of your head (i.e. crown chakra) when the connection is made.

After you make contact with the Real You, it will take practice to learn how to ask and how to listen for answers, but you will eventually do it. Through your Higher Self it is also easier to make contact to your Spirit Guide, your Soul’s Teacher.

But this takes time and practice, so start meditating today!

  1. Loving company

Reinforce the feeling of being wanted by spending time with people who love you for who you are.

At the same time, avoid the company of people who are negative about your chances for a more positive life and those who try to discourage your journey of recovery.

Avoid those whose company led you into unfortunate circumstances in the past. It is your life, your experience, and how you choose to live it is only up to you. No more excuses!

  1. Find love

Look for something or somebody to love. By practicing your love, you develop appreciation for what is starting to happen to you.

Develop a loving, caring relationship with a person or even a pet. By sharing your unconditional love, you will learn to be happy a fell worthy of receiving love yourself.

Also, do as many of the things that you love doing, such as sports, games, reading — you name it!

  1. Show love and compassion

Loving the rest of mankind will have the rewards of being loved back. Take time to do charity work or help someone in need. It doesn’t need to be a financial help.

Good deeds are worth a lot more than simply giving money away, because they involve a soul-to-soul connection and that stimulates compassion, empathy and love — all noble emotions.

  1. Love your body and its good health

Start loving your body, because it is the vehicle that gives you the freedom to experience this beautiful world. If you are a healthy person, then you are really lucky! Make sure to love your body’s health and take steps to protect it. Today is the best time to start taking good care of yourself.

(If you have a health problem, then positive affirmations will help you heal easier. Repeat these positive affirmations every day: “I am healthy, I am strong, I am happy!”)

Also remember that thanks to your body you can:

  • walk and explore the world around you
  • talk to your loved ones
  • hear the music that you enjoy so much
  • touch the things you are curious about
  • taste those beverages and foods that you love so much
  • smell the flowers
  • see our beautiful planet and everything that it has to offer

Your body is truly a wonderful machine, so take good care of it! Maybe even turn it into a temple, as the wise men say.
